黄金世代★小劉 (Shoryu) of Taiwan Crowned Champion of “Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team” Dream Championship 2021!

Tokyo, Japan – December 27, 2021 – KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced that its head-to-head football simulation game Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team held the worldwide Dream Championship 2021 tournament Finals on Saturday, December 11. Out of the 16 competitors, 黄金世代★小劉 (Shoryu), hailing from Taiwan, rose to become the champion for the tournament and the world's best player of 2021!

Tournament Recap

The final tournament was made up of the 16 winners of the final regional qualifiers. Players from around the world including Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Argentina, USA, Iran, Kuwait, and Algeria faced off online for the championship.

The tournament started out with a surprising development again this year as IE | Daigo, the winner of the Dream Championship 2020, lost the first match.

The curtain closed on the finals with one of the highest level matches in the history of the Dream Championship between CR7, the 1st place American block regional qualifier winner, and 黄金世代★小劉 (Shoryu), the 1st place East Asia block winner and new champion.

黄金世代★小劉 (Shoryu) received a video letter from Captain Tsubasa's original author Yoichi Takahashi along with a special illustration from the author. The winner also received other rewards such as an exclusive in-game badge and championship trophy.

Live Commentary from YouTubers Around the World

As a new addition this year, YouTubers were brought on board to livestream the finals alongside the official live streams. YouTubers from all over the world simultaneously streamed the Dream Championship 2021 finals in their respective languages.

New Participation System Coming to Dream Championship 2022!

Along with the early announcement of next year's tournament, a new participation system was introduced for Dream Championship 2022.

Director Kimoto made an appearance at the end of the tournament announcing the special news in development for Dream Championship.

Dream Championship 2022 was announced alongside a brand new rating system that would begin in February 2022. This system will use calculations based on the monthly rank matches, cup matches, and league results to grant those ranked in the top the ability to participate in Dream Championship 2022.

The Dream Championship was created as the ultimate chance for players to face off against strong opponents from all over the world to decide who is number one.

The Online Qualifiers for Dream Championship 2021 were held in the app from Friday, September 17 to Friday, October 8 this year and The Final Regional Qualifiers were held from Saturday, October 23 to Saturday, November 20.

The top 15 players from the Final Regional Qualifiers and "FX|Daigo", the winner of Dream Championship 2020, made up the 16 players who competed in the Finals, broadcasted in real time, to decide who is No.1 in the world.
